Alexandre Giguere, Enbridge: Pitch Motors High Peak Current During Icing Events
Enbridge’s Quebec wind sites experience many pitch converter Errors during icing events, and we suspect that the weight of ice on blades contributes to premature pitch motor failure. We present some high-resolutions snapshots of excessive / asymmetric pitch motor current during icing events and would like to discuss with the network whether there are some optimizations for pitch control during icing.
