Luichen Chang, UNB: NSERC Wind Energy Strategic Network (2008-2014)
NSERC Wing Energy Strategic Network (WESNet) was the first research network focusing on wind energy technologies. Funded by NSERC and 13 partners, WESNet consisted 39 researchers in 16 Canadian universities and carried out its research, training and collaboration programs during 2008 – 2014, on four themes (i.e., wind resources, wind energy extraction, wind power integration, and techno-economic modeling). Dr. Liuchen Chang, the Principal Investigator of WESNet will provide an overview of this research network, from the conceptualization and organization to execution and completion of its research mandates. Dr. Chang will share the accomplishments, impacts and lessons learned of WESNet.

The Wind Energy Institute of Canada advances the development of wind energy across Canada through research, testing, innovation and collaboration.
