Abstract
Phil McKay, CanREA: Canadian Wind Optimization Oppurtunities
Leveraging CanREA's 2020 Wind Energy Optimization Guidelines, industry polling provides a first look at the optimization opportunities most relevant to wind farm owners, operators, OEMs and service providers in Canada for the purpose of R&D prioritization. An online survey was developed and distributed to the CanREA Operations Caucus network allowing industry to rank R&D priorities for specific technologies categorized in the following groups as identified in the Guidelines; Increasing Power Output (hardware, software, site-wide processes), Improving Efficiency (workforce, work planning, equipment), Restoring Performance, and Life Extension. The results of the survey will be presented including important context regarding data collection.
