Rupp Carriveau/Ryan Kilpatrick, University of Windsor/NRCan: IEA Task 43: Wind Energy Digitalization
The University of Windsor is participating in IEA’s Task 43 on Digitization. Our participation is focused on providing insights as to how should a data-driven approach to lifetime extension assessment best be undertaken.  This includes addressing the gaps in data inputs that will be required to digitize maintenance and inspection records, meteorological data, and wind farm configuration data. Ultimately, the objectives include the creation of a database for systematic utilization of failure data to identify commonalities of degradation characteristics. Creation of digital logbooks for turbine inspection and digital inventories for spare parts availability are additional objectives.

The Wind Energy Institute of Canada advances the development of wind energy across Canada through research, testing, innovation and collaboration.
