WEICan hosted a series of presentations for staff, with Malcolm Lodge as the special guest.


On Friday, July 7, 2023, WEICan hosted a series of presentations for staff.

First, Marianne Rodgers, WEICan’s Scientific Director shared a Summer 2023 Research Update with the staff, describing WEICan’s recent findings in Asset Management and Grid Integration.

Following that, Trevor Coathup, WEICan intern, led a workshop showing WEICan staff some Tips and Tricks with MS Word, which should help staff use the program more effectively.

Finally, Malcolm Lodge, who designed, developed, and managed the Atlantic Wind Test Site (AWTS, now WEICan) for 10 years, described his experiences in creating the site and some challenges and opportunities in the early days of AWTS. Staff enjoyed hearing about WEICan’s origin story and learning about how much has changed through the years.

Malcolm Lodge’s presentation was especially interesting to WEICan’s summer student, Rebecca MacIntyre, who is his grandchild. Rebecca is studying Sustainable Design Engineering at UPEI.
