Charles Godreau, Nergica: Strategic Research: Remaining Useful Life of Key Components
Starting in 2026, several PPAs will end each year in Canada. Operators will face challenging decisions to either dismantle, repower or extend the life of their assets. One key question to address before this deadline is the remaining useful life of wind turbines components. The presentation will cover the R&D infrastructure to be deployed at Nergica research site to tackle this topic as well as potential R&D projects that could benefit from it. About Nergica: Nergica is a research center based in Gaspé, Canada, that stimulates innovation in the renewable energy industry through research, technical assistance, technology transfer and technical support. Nergica owns two Senvion MM92 turbines operating since 2010.

The Wind Energy Institute of Canada advances the development of wind energy across Canada through research, testing, innovation and collaboration.
